Retirement Home Complaints Response and Information Service Overview

1-800-361-7254 or 905-403-0500

The Ontario Retirement Communities Association operates a toll-free Retirement Home Complaints Response and Information Service that gives seniors and their families the information they need to make informed choices and helps them resolve problems quickly and effectively.

The Retirement Home Complaints Response and Information Service helps consumers deal with questions or complaints about any retirement residences in Ontario, even if they are not ORCA members. Trained Information Officers are available as a resource to owners/operators of retirement residences who wish to discuss issues concerning their operations or to find ways to improve relationships with their residents.

Service is funded by the Province of Ontario.
Call 1-800-361-7254 to reach an experienced Information Officer to discuss:
  • Finding the retirement residence that's right for you
  • Referrals to community and government agencies
  • Concerns about the food served-quality, nutrition and/or special diets
  • Cleanliness of the building
  • Monitoring and delivery of medication
  • Security and safety concerns
  • Staff's attitude and behaviour toward residents
