An Orca Profile
Established in 1977, ORCA represents nearly 300 owners and operators of retirement residences dedicated to providing service to almost 23,000 Ontario seniors. The Association also includes a cast of approximately 260 commercial members.

According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, there are 38,214 residential spaces within Ontario’s retirement residence sector. Not all are within ORCA approved retirement residences - about 60%.

Mission:
ORCA is a non-profit provincial organization providing professional leadership to the retirement residence sector for the benefit of all Ontarians.

ORCA sets standards, inspects and accredits retirement residences in Ontario. Members must meet and maintain standards pertinent to maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment for residents.

Vision:
ORCA’s Board of Directors and staff are committed to strong, steady leadership through a clear and meaningful vision for the future.

By 2008 ORCA will be recognized for:
